Did you know that if you have a safe, indoor space in your church or non-profit agency, you can sponsor a summer camp program with available FREE RESOURCES? They include:
FREE meals for kids (breakfast, lunch and snacks) ~ FREE (or very low-cost) reading materials, lesson plans and other teaching aids that can help kids improve their reading skills over the summer This FREE workshop will show you: how to apply to receive free meals for kids in your program, and how to find free reading materials and learn about strategies and techniques to increase student reading abilities.

The Facts: There are 15,000 children in Miami Dade with an incarcerated parent. Research has shown that these children are very likely to end up in jail themselves unless they have role models who mentor them and show them how to make healthy life choices. Details about Amachi Mentoring HERE

the Center. Panelists will discuss core elements of effective programs for
youth in custody, how to strategically align programs into an effective array
of services, and how to engage the community in the services that youth in

When: Thursday, April 26 (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) and Friday, April 27 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

This symposium will explore innovative interventions with this vulnerable population of children. Without intervention, children with an incarcerated parent are six to nine times more likely than other children to become involved with the juvenile or criminal justice system. An estimated 2.3 million children in America deal with the trauma of parental separation due to incarceration.
