Families and Children

Whiz Kidz After School and Summer Camp Programs -  Aug '11 - July ' 12  

Summer camp and after-school services in 6 Miami Dade locations. 

Activities include academic assistance, physical education, field trips, dance, art, character education and performing arts in summer. Funded by  The Children’s Trust.       VIDEO


Service Network for Children of Inmates - is designed to assure that children with an incarcerated parent will have opportunities to be cared for and supported in their development by responsible adults, helping professionals and others in their communities. Funded by The Children’s Trust.      VIDEO   

SUCCESS is an after school club for middle and high school students with disabilities. The program teaches participants how to transition to independent living.  Activities include opening a bank account, taking the bus or driving, household management, cooking and other practical skills. Other activities include academic enrichment, arts and social skills.  SUCCESS is based in North Hialeah.

PREVENTION EDUCATION

Project U-Turn Encourages young people to set personal goals for their future, thereby helping them to avoid high-risk behaviors which can lead to teen pregnancy.  Funded by Florida Department of Health
                               

Youth

FCFC  Amachi Mentoring - mentors meet weekly with a child who has been carefully matched with them. Our hope is that one-to-one mentoring by caring adults will significantly improve the life opportunities of the children.     VIDEO  ~
